WILL BE OUT OF THE COUNTRY JUNE 2024 - JULY 2024
My husband and I worked with Elizabeth for both of our daughters births. Our first birth our daughter was born still. Elizabeth was such a huge part of that birth story and journey. We have absolutely no idea how we would’ve done it without her by our side. We knew that if we were to get pregnant again that we would have to have her with us. Just this last year, we welcomed our second daughter into our family. Elizabeth helped us create and execute our birth plan the exact way we wanted it. It was such a beautiful day, and we appreciate Elizabeth‘s guidance and wisdom through our journey. Elizabeth has such a calming presence in the delivery room. You’ll never hear her complain if she’s tired or fatigued. Our first birth was extremely long and our second I know took a physical toll on her. But she was always ready and willing to help. We love Elizabeth, and appreciate her so much as a birth partner. I can’t imagine our birth stories without her in it.

I found Elizabeth during my hunt for a doula when I was pregnant with my 3rd baby. I was determined to have another natural birth, however, my main reason for looking for a doula was because my husband and I don't have family in the area and he may have to watch our young kids when I go into labor. Even though my husband had no idea how to be a birth support, he was able to do so during the birth of our two babies. I didn't know of any other experience other than what I went through. I am so glad we found Elizabeth in the process. I didn't realize how different labor could be with a professional by your side.
I gave birth yesterday to my 3rd baby and Elizabeth exceeded all of my expectations. She helped me manage my lower back pains throughout the labor process... something I have dreaded on all my pregnancies. Elizabeth was our guiding light in conversations with the medical team. She is very knowledgeable and was a great advocate to meet our needs like helping me realize that just because I'm strapped to a fetal monitor doesn't mean I can't get up and move around during labor.
My husband who had no idea what a doula was until he saw Elizabeth in action was so impressed. He could not stop talking about how much help she has been in this journey with our friends.
I highly recommend Elizabeth and so glad I found her. Per my husband's words... "this has been the calmest birth I've witnessed. My wife is usually yelling and screaming by the time active labor hits."

Where to begin, Elizabeth could be praised for so many things… we reached out to her after we started seeing some red flags pop up with our hospital, doctor, and doctors group in general. We were shooting for a VBAC and wanting to do everything possible to avoid that repeat c-section. Around 36weeks it became clear we were going to need some reinforcements in the delivery room. We got the VBAC! My husband and I both agree we don’t think it would have been possible without Elizabeth there! She helped us at home and she was a blessing in the delivery room! I can’t even list all the things she helped with. She was able to help us manage pain and was able to encourage during pushing. She said all the right words and helped with different positions! It was a very long pushing stage and her words in the room encouraged me to keep going and not give up. Her knowledge of all things related to birthing a baby was such a blessing! My husband and I both agree if and when we have a third baby we will be reaching out to have her on our team again. If you are trying to decide if she can help or is worth including in your birthing experience just say yes! Because she is! We could never praise her enough!

We first met with Elizabeth a few weeks before the due date at the request of my wife. To be honest as a guy I wasn’t really sure what a Doula really was or did. I figured Elizabeth would help with my wife and support her. She did that and so so much more. I don’t think we would have been able to have the VBAC we wanted after 51 hrs of labor if it wasn’t for Elizabeth being there for us a text or phone call away 24/7 and in person for almost half the labor.
She always new what to do or say and she was a great Advocate for us in the hospital when we had a nasty run in with a really rude doctor. She not only supported my wife but took so much stress and pressure off of me, I don’t know how I would of done it without her. She helped me be involved and guided us exactly when we needed it.
People hire others for advice all the time for all sorts of way less important things then your child’s birth. I would highly suggest hiring Elizabeth for one of the most important days of your life’s. No amount of preparation could of prepared me for the birthing process as a guy.
Words can’t express how thankful and lucky we were to have her by our side. We will be using her again for anymore children we have.

Elizabeth is the best and my wife and I have nothing but amazing things to say about her. I’ll speak from the first-time father’s perspective. Having her as our Doula gave me the ability to serve my wife with much more purpose and efficiency during labor than I could’ve done on my own (despite any preparation beforehand on my end, I literally wouldn’t have known what to do in the moment). No guess work for me, Elizabeth knew that I wanted to be very involved and she showed me exactly what to do and when/where to be throughout the whole process. That’s not to say she wasn’t just as involved as I was, if not more. She literally held my wife’s hand throughout the labor and metaphorically held mine. We had many preparation meetings before the actual labor, but she knew exactly what we needed to do in those unplanned moments that we hadn’t discussed. Life was/is much easier with Elizabeth as our Doula, and guys, if you have any question in your mind if a Doula is actually needed, they are. Do it, you won’t regret it.

I highly recommend having a doula in Corpus, especially Elizabeth Simons Doula. I met with Elizabeth to discuss how she could best support me through labor. She was so open and kind, asking me what I really wanted to do. We discussed the pros and cons, options I had, my fears and hesitations. Birth is so personal, I felt safe with her in my birth world. I texted her after ob appointments, she checked in when I had prodromal labor, followed up after ultrasounds. Pregnancy and birth is a leap of faith. Having someone to walk through it with you makes the unknown less scary.
Prior to labor, my amazing ob and I had a nuanced risk/benefit conversation about how we would approach the birth of my son.
When I went into labor, the on call doc was NOT ok with the approach of my doctor. Different doctors have different approaches, especially in Corpus. Maternity care can be extremely "this is what we do and there are no other options" The on-call doc's approach was all about what made HER most comfortable, not what was evidence based or best for MY situation.
Elizabeth and my husband were the support I needed in a situation where my hospital care team was, unfortunately, not very supportive. I was able to move forward with what my doctor and I had originally talked about.
In the end, I felt empowered and in awe after the birth of my son. The birth of your child is something you will never forget. It takes immense strength no matter how it happens. Elizabeth was there, reminding me of my strength, my choices, and what I had accomplished. Elizabeth, thank you for helping me navigate this wild, hard, and ultimately beautiful time in my life.

Elizabeth Simons Doula I know I’m a little biased when it comes to doulas…But, this woman is worth more than your biggest paycheck! My birth was a bit complicated and had some trauma with it; it would’ve been even more traumatic if Elizabeth wasn’t there. Her calm, her knowledge, her presence brought joy to my birth. I’m so blessed to have had her with me. I'm so honored to call her friend. Seriously, this woman is a queen! 👑

Highly recommended!!!
Elizabeth is amazing!!! This was my first birth using a Doula and I wish I would have had one for my previous 3 births!! Elizabeth was very involved throughout my entire pregnancy. She took the time to go over my past pregnancies and labors paying carful attention to the negatives so we could make a plan to avoid them. She always stayed in touch, checked in after every doctors appointment, and was always willing to answer any questions any time. Elizabeth made sure to always keep my husband involved throughout the process. She had games and activities to help us narrow down what was really important to our birth plan goals. She never hesitated to go the extra mile!! She knew I was nervous about using one of those wraps, so she took the extra time to bring one over and show me how to use it. Elizabeth has a lot of knowledge and was great in providing resources to help me with any issues that came about. She is punctual, flexible, and always pleasant; a person you always want to be around.
On the day I went into labor, (not knowing it at the time) I reluctantly called Her not wanting to bother her telling her of my symptoms and she knew to come right over. We did some exercises took a walk and I was holding a baby a few hours later!! She was so supportive during labor. Elizabeth made sure my husband felt involved in the process, but knew when I needed her encouragement and soft hand to hold.
Her support didn’t stop there. She was always checking in on me to make sure I WAS OK!! (It is so easy to forget about ourselves when there is a new baby.)
I could go on and on!! Choosing Elizabeth as my Doula was the best decision I ever made!!

I'm so thankful for Elizabeth being at my birth!
She was so attentive to my needs giving me drinks in the birth tub and encouraging me the whole time I was in labor telling me what a great job I was doing while giving me back massages. I am so blessed to have her be apart of my birth support team. I had a homebirth and she was even willing to take a walk in the rain with my husband and I during the earlier part of my labor. She was so positive and supportive when she talked to me and thats what I truly wanted to hear during the intense moments of labor. Even when things didn't go the way we planned for our homebirth she was with us every step of the way being helpful in all the ways she could.
Thank you so much Elizabeth!

Elizabeth was such a great support and advocate for me during my first pregnancy and my present one now. I chose her again because of how well she did for my care. From taking notes for me during visits (pregnancy brain is a killer when it comes to remembering anything lol), reminding me during the time of my labor and delivery what my preferences were, especially during those moments I had when everything changed for me, due to my high blood pressure problem I ended up with a C-Section all of a sudden at 37 1/2 weeks. I felt confident and secure though in her care from her history personal and professional with dealing with people that have complications in pregnancy, and especially her specific care with those who have had miscarriages and still born delivery. She is an overall great Doula and one I can trust with my care. I really learned a lot with my first pregnancy, with the education that she provided as well, which definitely helped me to be more at peace and comforted when I had those ruff moments with my last delivery. This pregnancy has been rougher for me so glad I chose to have her again. Thank you so much Elizabeth for making my first experience and this one so much secure for me!

Elizabeth came to us during a very difficult time. I already had a doula, but when we found out that our son had died at 36 weeks, my doula asked if I wanted Elizabeth to come to the hospital. Even though I didn’t really know her, I said yes, and I am so glad that I did. She was able to support me during the most difficult experience of my life. She provided comfort, knowledge, and support. She made me feel well cared for, and showed such great tenderness towards my stillborn son. It would have been a much different experience without her care and support. I am forever grateful for the service that she provided to my family.

I found Elizabeth very early in my pregnancy. Her services provided me with real time, relevant information that kept me from googling symptoms and freaking myself out for nothing. Towards the end of the pregnancy, she helped my husband and I write a birth plan that made sense to the nurses, so much so the charge nurse was able to pair us with the best nurse for our birth goals. Labor didn’t go as we had hoped, but Elizabeth was there to help us navigate how we needed to alter our expectations. Looking back, Elizabeth’s involvement made the difference between what could have been a very stressful pregnancy and delivery, and what ended up being a very well understood process. I felt in control of my situation, and very confident in how events were unfolding because of her.
